3 Wash-out Period
Период между двумя активными видами лечения, во время которого пациент получает только плацебо (и, при необходимости, болеутоляющую терапию). Цель периода вымывания — выведение из организма остатков ранее использованного препарата до начала терапии новым. 4 Run-in Period (of a Study)
Период исследования, предшествующий периоду, в ходе которого пациенты получают собственно исследуемую терапию. Понятие "вводный период" является в отдельных случаях синонимом периода вымывания (см. Wash-out Period), либо скрининга (см. Screening), либо включает в себя оба эти понятия.
